Fall Decorating Ideas for Outside
Every year, I try to create a magical entryway for my family and friends. I have done many creations in my time.
Mums, pumpkins, cabbages, grapevines, and branches all help to create a warm and inviting entryway.
Here, I have used perennials in my containers to add a pop of fall color. Look at the breathtaking beauty of Proven Winners Heuchera Dolce ‘WildBerry’! The beauty of using perennials in your containers is that you can place them into your landscape before the first frost.
Proven Winners perennial Hucherella Fun and Games ‘Eye Spy’ (in the middle container) and Heuchera, Primo ‘Black Pearl’ (in the bottom container) will be placed into their permanent homes in my front flower bed before the first frost. This gives them plenty of time to establish roots before winter arrives. I will be eagerly awaiting their beautiful return in the Spring.
Fall hiking in the woods is one of my favorite things. How much fun are these River Birch logs I

Fall Window Box Flowers
I fill my window boxes with decorative cabbage, mums and pansies. It is nice to have a touch of color as we near winter. These cold-loving annuals will still be blooming like crazy even in the cold weather. I even stick branches into the window boxes for texture and height.
Mums, pumpkins, and pansies decorate every corner of our garden.

Because I am a gardener, I love to bring the outdoors inside. So, my heart tends to love the traditional bold colors of fall. There is so much inspiration outdoors. It always amazes me the fireworks display God put on in His trees. The color is so bright, it hurts your eyes. The leaves gently falling to the ground are like colored snowflakes. Creating colored puddles under the trees.
I have collected many Fall stems over our 25 years of marriage. I always try to find realistic stems that are close to nature. Hitting the end of the season sales to get multiple Fall
Fall Tree Decorating Ideas
My favorite Fall tradition for over 25 years is putting up my Fall tree. It is something I look forward to every year. I adore the twinkle lights at night they add so much warmth on the shorter fall days.
In the beginning I started with a 4′ tree and now I have collected so many treasures, I am up to an 8′ tree.
To start my tree I add in all my twinkle lights. Then I add large stems of sunflowers and build the top of my tree. Next, I add maple leaves that are large bundles/bushes all around the tree giving

Indoor Fall Decroations
One of my favorite pieces to decorate for each season is our black sideboard. I purchased this piece at a garage sale 17 years ago. It was a walnut color, I sanded the finish off and painted it black, then distressed it. The bold colors of fall seem to pop against the black.
I like to add fall stems, pumpkins (faux and real), ribbons and acorns.
Here is a different look with real pumpkins stacked together .
I hope you enjoyed this fall tour of our home.
