Merry Christmas and Happy New Years sweet friends!!
Now that the hustle and bustle of Christmas has passed and we enter into a New Year… I thought it would be the perfect time to have you all over for a Holiday home tour!!
Let’s start outside…
This year, I used natural elements from my yard as the centerpiece for my urns. I saved my allium seed pods from the spring to use as the centerpiece for each urn. I spray painted the alliums white and used a final coat of silver glitter spray paint for a touch of sparkle. I also purchased birch logs at my local nursery to add a bit of height and texture.
I filled my urns with greens from Petal Driven. I used holly in the center and then filled in each urn with pine, redwood and holly around the outside.
I also added my favorite lanterns for a warm glow… to guide out guests paths into our home…
I filled my rusty old wheelbarrow with greens and added one of my favorite lanterns on top.
Now…
Come on inside for a cup of coco! It’s cold here in Michigan!
This year I choose to go with a red theme in my living room. I adore red at Christmas time, it’s so festive.
This was my theme from last year… I went white and gold. It is amazing how different a room can look with a change in your color palate.
Since I did not have a blog last year, I thought it would be fun to share a few images from last year too…
Miss Ellie says hello to you all! She is going to be 12 in January!! She has such a kind puppy heart.
Here is the same view from last year in my gold and white theme. Both so different but equally festive.
This is my angel tree…
that was started by sweet Mom when I was a little girl. I have hundreds of angel ornaments and stationery angels! I write on the bottom of each one so I can remember what year she gave them to me… My Grandma and Grandpa always called me their “little angel” so that is why my mom started giving them to me.
Now onto my buffet…
My buffet has featured a few different looks this year. This was inspired by flowers from Petal Driven. I love how the festive peppermint candies play off the beautiful flowers.
Here is an up close look at the peppermint candy arrangement.
For an easy and festive look…
I mixed two garlands.. a plain evergreen garland and a holly garland. I wove in a few poinsettia stems, added faux berries, pine cones and glass balls.
My gorgeous candle is a 12 wick candle from FlashPoint Candles.
I am a candle connoisseur and I have to say I am in love with this amazing candle. Their candles are handmade out of earthenware clay, which is typically used in outdoor pottery. Each candle is glazed by drip and reactive glazing, which gives each piece different colors and variations. Every piece comes out unique, so no two are alike. They are also hand poured with a premium soy wax blend, and have cotton eco-friendly wicks. Another bonus to these candles is that you can repurpose the vessel when you are finished.

Last year…
I created a snow scene on my buffet. I placed white lights with a white cord on the buffet then I filled the buffet with buffalo snow on top.
I used houses, angels and bottle brush trees to complete the look.
Some glass vases, candlesticks and jars add a touch of elegance.
This Santa is one of my favorites… I have had him for years. He is holding a little bluebird.
I think my love for decorating started at Christmas when I was child. I always took off all the ornaments and re arranged them a few times a season. Finally, my mom would make me stop. Then I started rearranging the gifts underneath so they looked styish too!! πππ
My Christmas memories…
are filled with lots of yummy meals and of course cookies!
I think that is why I LOVE doing tablescapes…
This is a festive tablescape using traditional red and white. I mixed in a snow scene as my centerpiece.
I just love tiny houses… I love peering inside the windows.
This tablescape would be perfect for Christmas or New Years…
I love the gold and black… it’s festive and glamorous. The runner is from my dear friend Bea @Zoe And Jordan
This traditional tablescape was what I used for our New Year’s dinner last year. The centerpiece is fresh greenery from @ProvenWinners
This was the first year…
I decorated out bedroom. I have to say it was one of my favorite projects! I have always wanted to do it. My girlfriend always sleeps under her Christmas Tree on New Year’s Eve. I thought that always sounded so fun. But, I never have had the energy or will power to camp out! So this was the perfect fix!! I have to say it was so festive and cozy!
Miss Ellie says she is sooooo sleepy!
I thought I would share a few night time shots from last year. Their is something about the twinkle lights at night they are so magical!
This is our entryway…
The tree on the balcony upstairs rotates.
I want to thank you all…
for all your love and support this year. Looking back upon the last year it has not been easy. It has been filled with loss, illness, pain, heartache… but also many moments God has provided miracles, grace, love and joy. Many of you have prayed and loved my family through some very difficult times… I just want to say thank you and I send all my love to you!!
Wishing you all a blessed and beautiful New Year!!
PS: Miss Esther says Happy New Year’s too!!
Marijean says
Gorgeous Mary Ann! Is Miss Esther new? My moms name was Esther, so I have a soft spot in my heart for it.
Mary Ann says
Hello sweet Marijean!!
Yay! I am so glad you enjoyed! Yes, Esther is newish to our family. She is going to be 2 in March. Ellie (our chocolate) is going to be 12 on January 12th. Emma (our older yellow) will be 10 on New Years Day!!! It is hard for me to get good pictures of Esther, she is really camera shy. She runs away everytime I aim the lens at her. She seems to do better in videos because the lens is not at her.. and I usually have popcorn!π
Wishing you a blessed and beautiful New Year dear friend,
Mary Ann
